A monk of this community is a man who, above all, seeks the greater glory of God, the sanctification of his soul and the souls of all persons, living and vivifying in all things the Paschal joy of the Risen Lord.
Is he who gives his life for reconciliation and unity of all Christians, and from the life in communion with his brothers, lives in contemplation of the mysteries of God.
Is he who, in spite of all trials, remains faithful to his vocation and loyal in the service of God.
Is the precursor who announces with all his soul and being, the second coming of the Son of God; is he who paves the way, is he who plows the earth for the seed of the kingdom; is the pilgrim who does not tie himself to the things of this world and lives in detachment from all things; is he who does not faint in the ways of the Lord; is he who loves everyone with the fire of divine love, does not fear the dark night of the soul, thus keeping silence so that God may speak to his heart, does not fail to enlighten and refresh souls with Paschal light, never tires of doing good, seeing Christ in all; is fresh bread for those hungering for God, pure and crystalline water for those who seek fountains; for those who leap to eternal life he is a luminous beacon; illumines souls who wander in darkness and shadows of death; is he who battles to his last drop of blood that all may be one, thus exclaiming to the entire world: ‘Abba, Father!’
